DrupalCamp Belgium 2026

I attended DrupalCamp Belgium in Kortrijk. I am active in the Belgian Drupal community, though I had less time than I would have liked to help organise this edition. Good to be there regardless.

For decades Drupal has been the platform behind the web's most complex digital experiences. A new moment has arrived. AI is no longer a tool we bolt onto our systems. It begins to transform how content is created and consumed.

In this session I explored the shift from the traditional CMS to an Autonomous Content Framework, moving beyond automation toward a Drupal Flywheel that learns, adapts, and scales with every interaction. I redid the session I gave in Athens, this time with a live Bruce demo.

One self-inflicted problem: Bruce picked up a URL from the dry run an hour earlier, which resulted in a 404 in the email during the live demo. I had cleaned up the test pages and forms just before the session. Avoidable in hindsight, harmless in practice.

Belgium VibeCoding Competition 2026

Tuesday June 30, 2:40 PM, Contrib room

I organised the Belgium VibeCoding Competition 2026. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, open to all vibe coders and all AIs. Participants received an assignment and judges evaluated the submissions under a time constraint.

The two winners:

• Gold: a game running a local LLM via Google Chrome (Nano)
• Silver: HAL from the movie, rebuilt in the browser

Both genuinely impressive. The event was a success.
