Dobbie's eye: the kitchen via Telegram

Dobbie has an eye. A wide eye. A Raspberry Pi IMX708 wide-angle camera, to be precise. 📸

How do you request a photo?

Just send "take a photo" or "what do you see?" via Telegram. Dobbie:

1. Takes a photo (2304x1296px)
2. Sends it directly to your Telegram
3. Deletes the photo from the server afterwards

No storage, no logging, no cloud. The photo only exists while it's in transit.

What do you use it for?

Practical uses in the Wouters household:

• Checking what's still in the fridge
• Seeing if the kids are home yet
• Just out of curiosity

Want to know more?

Ask "what do you see?" and Dobbie will also analyse the photo with AI and describe what's visible. Two in one.

Technical

The camera is attached to a Raspberry Pi and controlled via rpicam-still. No webcam drivers, no fuss. Just plug it in and it works.

Dobbie quite enjoys keeping an eye on the kitchen. A true house elf. 🧦
